Sulfuric acid

Industrial (contact) sulfuric acid is manufactured at the Turkmenabat chemical plant according to TDS - 2184-77 (GOST 2184-77).

The chemical composition of anhydrous sulfuric acid is expressed with the formula H2SO4.

Note: Upon agreement with the consumer, enhanced and industrial sulfuric acid may be supplied with a mass fraction of monohydrate up to 98%.

Sulfuric acid is the most important product of the basic chemical industry. The largest amount of sulfuric acid is used for the production of mineral fertilizers. Sulfuric acid is widely applied in the oil, metallurgical and other industries, as well as for the production of various salts and acids, industrial aluminum sulphate, various organic products, dyes, smoke-forming and explosive materials.

It is used as the water adsorbent and dehydrating agent, for the processes of neutralization, etching and many others.

It is also intended for the manufacture of artificial fibers, caprolaktam, titanium dioxide, ethyl alcohol, aniline inks and a whole range of other products.

PACKING, MARKING, TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE

Sulfuric acid is transported in rail tanks made of acid-resistant steel with the stenciled signs “Sulfuric Acid”, “Danger”, as well as in steel containers and barrels as per GOST 6247-79 or delivered to the consumer through an steel acid pipeline according to GOST 380-88.

Industrial sulfuric acid must be stored in vessels made of steel or special steel, either non-lined or acid-resistant brick or acid-resistant material lined.

Enhanced sulfuric acid must be stored by the consumer in clean vacuum sealed stainless steel vessels or in tanks made of St3 grade steel according to GOST 380-77, lined with acid-resistant tiles or bricks.
